My quicksilver has a waterproof coil, Ok great, but what about the plug that connects it? I want to take it to a lake or river and immerse it. I was thinking of attaching several garbage bags with rubber bands to keep it dry. Anyone have info about this? I really don't want to ruin my detector.

If you're talking about the plug to the control box, that's not waterproof and personally I wouldn't trust plastic bags to keep a detector dry in a lake or river........

As far as I know it is waterproof up to the connector at the control unit. In other words, if you put your coil into the water about 2 feet or so you should be ok. If you get the cable connector or the control box wet, your detector is
toast, so don't trip and fall in. The manual should have some info on this and I would believe that, not me. HH __________________ Currently I dig everything, but, I have learned when not to.
