Default Why is everyone selling AT Pro

Is there something wrong with the at pro? I've watched vids and read reviews and they seem to be a very good machine and the machine I am wanting to buy! So is there something I'm missing here? Any input would be great before I spend the $ on one! Thanks Dan

A few initial production problems put a bad image on the machine. From what I hear, most problems have been worked out. Those machines for sale may be from folks that just don't "dig" the hobby...........

For every one person selling, there is a buyer. The AT Pro is very, how shall I say, chatty. Some people don't like that much ear candy. I bet for every one person selling, there is one that will not sell theirs.

Personally, i love mine now. At first I couldn't stand it and I wanted to break it over my knee.

I've been considering selling mine but not because I'm disappointed in it or anything wrong with it but because I have 6 detectors and since I can only use 1 at a time I have what I call closet queens. I like to try different detectors to a fault and need to sell off a few that I have tried and now set in a closet. I like the AT Pro but have an E-Trac and Omega that I use the majority of the time, just a matter of personal preference nothing against the AT Pro It did find me the Seated Dime in my Avatar.

Just how it goes. The AT Pro was the most hyped detector I've seen on the net in quite a while and I'm sure it lives up to being a good detector, but certainly nothing that's going to blow anyone anyway. Most listed for sale are probably either from newbies who expected too much, and would have been the same for any detector they bought, or experienced detector people who for some reason see the zebra stripes but choose to believe it's a top thoroughbred and have to give it a ride.

I love my AT PRO too, if they didn't like the chatter, etc. they should have just used it in standard mode ! That being said, I had mine in the water at the beach (salt water) and it still gave chatter even after ground balancing, but I still like it regardless

The At Pro is a awesome machine... Any metal detector that can pull the items that I've pulled in a few hunts from the same areas that I've detected for years is a great machine in my eyes...

I like mine as well and have had no problems with it whatsoever. In fact In the two months I've had it, I've found more than the highly touted entry detector, Fisher's F2 I have and had used the previous 3 months. I've also found more than my father with his White's IDX and my Uncle's Tesoro DeLeon. I'm a "newby" myself, only being at this for about 6 months now, but I suspect a lot of new MD'ists might not have liked the chattiness of it and figured for the money, they shouldn't have to use it in the STD modes? Seasoned MD'ists seem to just try new machines and move on. I myself am constantly looking for a good deal on machines I haven't used. I can only imagine being at this for years, the collection I might end up with if I didn't sell them off at some point. Just my $.02.

I'm in the process of selling my second AT Pro. The first one I sold because a friend offered me way more than I paid for it so he could take it on vacation. I tried several detectors but ended up getting another AT Pro. It's an excellent detector and currently provides the best bang for the bucks compared to many detectors that cost more. I haven't tried every detector out there but I have tried many of the top dogs. The At Pro is an excellent detector. I just want to try others and maybe eventually I'll find one I can't live without.

Why is everyone selling their E-trac?

Why is everyone selling their Fisher F75?

Why is everyone selling their MXT?

I hate the At Pro and I'm so jealous everybody has one and some people are selling them and I hate it and I'm going to use the fact the people are selling them to hate on them. I hate the AT Pro it's such a terrible metal detector. I hate it! hate it! hate it!

There were a lot of Atpro sold. And like any other detector some of people were just trying it out and didn't like it for what ever reason they had.

Just because you might see several detectors of the same for sale don't mean something wrong there's several reasons.
True some may have had problems it seems when any new model comes on the market there may be some problems but usually the company stands behind them and gets them resolved it's not only Garretts I've seen it with several brands.
I sold my mxt and there was several for sale at that time and I seen the same questions asked about it.
I can't answer for others buts I sold mine mainly due to shoulder problems I wanted something a little lighter plus I wanted to try some other brands and I just don't have the money to keep buying without selling first.
I now have an at pro and to me it's a keeper, it's about a pound lighter I have the gizmo on it which I feel improved the balance of it, plus I'm doing better with it at picking stuff out of trashy areas so I'm enjoying every min out and having a blast and that's what it's all about.
It takes patients with any detector and some just don't got it they go out a time or two and don't find much and mark a detector as junk.
Reason is a lot of newbies jump in over their heads and buy a more expensive detector and we that's done it awhile knows the more expensive the more bells to learn and that can get complicated starting out I always suggest a good entry level machine to start out with.
My son got into the hobby when I had my mxt and I suggested he get an entry level machine so he got an f2 and he really enjoys it I think he wouldn't have if he'd got an mxt first. I know I hated mine for a week or so when I first got it but I had been swinging an entry level awhile and knew it took some more learning and stuck with it and loved it later.
So yeah some may have problems with a machine want to get rid of it but a big % is lack of experience of learning the detector.
I will say the std mode of the at pro makes it a decent entry level machine I used it for about a week before switching over to the pro mode and it was much easier to learn the tones but the pro mode offers much more when you can run it in that mode and start to understand it so it's like having 2 detectors in one.
I can't say you'd love it or not all I can say about mine is I have no regrets at all and I don't care how many comes up for sale I'll be keeping mine for a long time unless they come out with one to turn the heat down on this weather so I can enjoy it more.
