Default 1280x Inspection

I would like to open my 1280x and inspect the inside to make sure no water has gotten in. Anyone know how to open one of these units without causing any damage? Thanks

I don't think water got in it. I bought this unit used a month or so ago and would like to make sure all the seals are still in good condition before I take it diving. I've had it in shallow water with the control box about 6 inches under and didn't see any bubbles. When I bought it the battery pack and wire's had some corrosion. I temporarily fixed that and my replacement battery box arrived today so tonight I wanted to check everything over, install the new battery pack connector wires and battery pack so everythings ready to go this weekend.

They are rugged units. I own one. To be sure...send it out for service. But I think your fine. Is it an older model or less then 5 years old? If its older then 5 years an used...I might send her in. Not sure about pricing...but they will be reasonable. Anyway. HH -Joe

I have had 2 of these and never had a problem with water in the electronics section. Only have used them in shallow water though. Good luck!
