Default Water Hunt at Sunset Beach or Panama City Hell Part II

I arrived at Sunset beach at just after 9:00AM and already there were quite a few people on the beach. The rainy season is nearly over and when the Okinawa sun comes out...it gets hot fast. However most people were simply laying out on the dry sand or frolicking in the knee-deep water, so I grabbed my AT Pro and The Dredge and headed out into the waist-deep water.

I was surprised by the number of fish swimming around me. It seems that the coil stirs up some of the water bugs and the fish snack on them. Cool.

I wasn't finding anything for awhile and then I started to find a lot of 1 yen coins. Tons of them. in 10 minutes I scooped up 80 of them. Then I saw why. A bunch of little kids were throwing all their little change in the water ahead of me. What a let down. I thought I was finding some coins, but it turns out I was just their monkey. It isn't as bad as the poor hunters in Panama City who were harassed and had idiots planting pulltabs on them, but it made me feel bad all the same.

I moved a little further out away from the kids and found some real coins. over 2,000 yen ($30)

I found two silver rings deep in the muck. These have been in the sea for a long time. When I found them they were perfectly black and it took some electrolysis to get them to shine again, but they are still pitted. I wonder how long these silver rings were there. I remember these Gucci rings being popular back in the late 1990's and I haven't seen them in a while...

One my way out of the water and my last target for the day, I found a 14k chain bracelet. I never get tired of seeing the yellow shine of gold in my scoop. Again I feel like I am being too lucky these days. Surely those Ninjas are stalking me.

No on part 2 you had something of value even if it was just 1 yen. Good Job on the gold. You alway seem to find the good stuff must be the place. Here to many rednecks they don't have the gold but do have plenty of clad.

Interesting observation on the coil stirring up fish food.

I often have fish following along with me, and thought they were
seeking my protection from the bigger fish.

Great post, as always!
