Howdy diggers,
I stopped by a little park I found in a small country town and spent about an hour checking it out to see if I might want to come back another time or two. I pulled a couple wheaties and one silver coin. The silver coin looks like it had been part of a bracelet or necklace because it has been drilled with 2 holes and then bent outward. It's a 1944 Ten Centavos from the Philippines. It says UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on the front and then FILIPINAS on the back. I am guessing it has something to do with WWII occupation?? If you know any history on this coin please comment! Today's silver finds takes me up to 52 silvers for the year and almost 200 wheaties! Here's a couple pics of today's finds. Thanks for looking, HH. __________________ Minelab E-Trac, 2013 Finds: Gold: 0, Silver coins: 18, .925: 0

Nice finds. The Philippines were actually a territory of the US till July 4, 1946. They were ceded to the US by Spain following the Spanish-American war, along with Cuba and other islands in the Pacific and Caribbean.
