Default Todays find???

I found this today while hunting with Bobwillhunt. It's 4.75" long. I thought maybe part of a rifle???

Yeah, lockplate from a flintlock, rifle or pistol. Nice find.

Thanks all. I was hoping it would be but I just didn't want to get my hopes up. We were hunting near a home that goes back to the 1850's at least. Also there was quite a bit of Civil War activity in this area. Here are some other finds nearby.
