Default Dug my first Spanish Reale today..

Hit a co-workers 1850's home site today & dug my first Spanish Reale.. Of course it took putting it in the help me i.d. section of the forum to figure it out.. Thanks again guys!! It was about 5" inches deep & rang in between 74 to 79 on my At-Pro.. I doesn't look to good, but it will always be priceless to me..

This is what mine looked like, pretty beat. Came out of a plowed field, 1753.

That is awesome I wouldn't even know what it was if I dug it up until I googled it. Very nice.

Default Nice find!

I'd wear that one if I were you! To bring good luck in the future!

I was debating on that!! I could only find one site that had any sort of measurements for them & it said a half reale was the size of a US half dime & 1 reale was the size of a US dime, mines the size of a dime.. Thanks for clearing that up for me.. I know absolutely nothing about these coins.. Thanks, Jack

Great find and great job on the pictures. You are right to consider more than it's monetary value. Not a lot of those found during a detector career. Congratulations on the find.
