Default Spectrum XLT

Iam using the coin & jewellery mode, but I want to make some adjustments. I know how to make the adjustments. But I don't know how to get it to ground balance after I made the adjustments. I have look at the manual and I still don't get it. Another question I got is how low should I let the volts get before I change the batteries? Any kind of help or tips will be appreciated. Thank you for your help.

I think whites recommends to stay above 8.5 volts on the xlt, that's when you'll start to lose depth. What is the problem with ground balancing? Is it telling you its not able to do it & its loading the preset levels? Make sure you are not over anything metal, it won't allow you to GB. Is it air balancing OK?

Manual pg. 15 - Hot Key/Shortcuts:

air/ground balance - in search mode, press enter to re-air/ground balance.

ground balance only - while searching, hold the trigger and press enter.

About the battery life and voltages you can read page 7; chapter 2 in your manual.

Good Luck & Happy Hunting

Vito

It will ground balance. First this is what I do. I pick out my mode which is coin & jewellery then i ground balance the detector. Then i hit menu and change a few setings. And that when I get stuck and don't know what to do.

You'll want to ground balance again after you change the settings... I always heard to, so I usually do, especially when messing with the preamp gain.

If I would have read the spectrum XLT book that RWJR13 gave me when I first got it. I would have knew how to do this a long time ago. Thanks again RWJR13. Great book Iam half way threw it.
