Default does every MD have a waterproof coil?

thinking bout doing a little skimming on the shore line....or do i need a special MD?

Well if you are going to detect the beach you want a detector that can handle the salt water, a regular land detector will false out in the salt water due to the minerals or black sand.

Most if not ALL have waterproof coils. I know that all the major brand names do.

Fisher
Bounty Hunter
Tesoro
Garrett
Whites
Minelab
Teknetics

Maybe even the off brand ones have waterproof coils. I think it's pretty standard.

Some Xterra coils and some Sovereign coils are NOT waterproof.

I can't think of any other coils off hand that aren't.

Some X-Terra coils are not waterproof such as the 10.5 DD coils and the 5x10's
