Default 1912 Barber Dime

I went back to the spot I hunted Tuesday after doing a little work on my scoop. I added some 1/4 mesh to cover the holes and thus help catch the pesky little brass shells that are everywhere in this spot. I got 88 of them today. I hunted for 3 hours and was just about to go home skunked when I picked up this sweet 1912 dime. That just made my day. I also dug up that big copper or brass thing that looked like part of a trumpet at first but I have no Idea what it is. Also found what looks like part of a bracelet. After finding this Barber dime I have visions of more to come from this spot, I hope.

Nice going on the Barber, sometimes all you need is one coin to turn the hunt into a success!

Like the dime!

Question:

Does the brass piece qualify as a "Tootie" or a "Tooter"

I think the category is taken for "tootsie"

Craig, I usually only have the mesh in the bottom but the area I am hunting here is all sand and it filters through real nice. I'll have to take it out when I move to a spot that has muck. Good luck, Jim

Nice going on the Barber dime.
Not sure about the brass item.
Keep cleaning bullets out of the area and you might find some more older coins.

Congrats on the old dime. The brass thing looks like it could be an old torch or something.

Sweet dime, the brass piece looks to me to be part of a gas lantern.
The lantern globes tie to the 2 short pieces.

~~Happy Hunting~~

Wow! Amazing amount of shell casings. Finding all those small pieces in the water takes a lot of skill- well done! HH!
