Smile All my first finds (2 hunts)

So I finally got permission to hunt two sea beaches near where I live.
I've only been out with the detector once on each beach so far, so this is from two hunts, and it's everything I dug (including the junk)

Besides a new proposition was sent to the Swedish government most likely making it totally legal going all over with your detector once you get the landowners approval. (They are also speaking of a metal detecting license which the local museum would hand out).

Anyways heres the piccies

The snuffbox from late 1800s was pretty neat, can still see some of the engravings on it.

I guess this is what you guys call clad

I found a very old horseshoe in half, there's a saying if you find a horseshoe it will bring you luck, what did I dig next? My first ever silver coin from 1953

I am now addicted

Congratulations for finding your first silver! The rest of your finds are cool too, it was good for you to show your junk finds because it lets the other newbies know that more than treasures are found in the hobby. And yes, "clad" is just common modern US coins minted after 1964. Thanks for sharing your finds!

Great finds! Very nice stuff. I hope the government uses some common sense in their law making. Good luck.

I bought showroom model of the x-terra 505 from New England, was that or a new ace 250, and I really liked the VID on the X-terras!
Read of the day is: Advanced Metal Detecting by the Norfolk Wolf
I think he wrote something like, just because you buy a Ferrari it doesnt make you a good driver. So I think I bought a good mid-range detector for my needs.

But I broke my fiskars digger and the ****** showel I bought very fast

I did read alot before starting, making me realize that I would dig lots of junk (one mans junk the others mans treasure) but somehow I never took in the advice to get a lesche also a pin pointer is to be ordered.

In my modest opinion, anything build to be beaten on will work great for digging otherwise it will break... As you know. Never used a lesche, but if you have a military surplus store in your town, these E-tools are great. Just sharpen the edge on a bench-grinder and your golden. The special forces one is already sharpened like a knife - and will slice through thick grass easily and neatly. What I miss about the E-tool I had was the 90 degree option. Besides that, I absolutely love this shovel and it only cost $30.

Default Great finds!

These are great finds! What you described as half a horseshoe may actually be an oxen shoe. Oxen shoes are made in halfs because of thier split hoof.

It's hard to see in the picture but in real life you can clearly see it's a half horse shoe.
I also googled alot of pictures of oxen shoes and none really fit with this one.
Also, I researched horse shoes after finding it, trying to date it, which proved harder then expected, but made it clear to me it was indeed a horseshoe

I only found this Swedish site about dating a horseshoe, I dont know how good of a work google translate does with it, but here you go!

(sömhål means holes)

Just came home from my third hunt!
Found some clad, a lesney toy car, some pulltabs... and
I found my second silver a silver brooch, and I'm exited because it's pretty old, probably early 1800s, was on the other side of the tree of the beach where I found the snuff box.
