What Silversmith said! This weekend I was digging in some roots and my target was actually wedged between two roots! I kicked my knife between them and STOOD on it to pry them apart and fish my zinc penny prize out!

Chrome molly steel requires very expensive wire to weld it and preparation. Can't just grind it and hit it with a stick. It would however be stronger than the original metal.

So is everyone getting about 1.5-2 years out of their lesches? Seems kind of a short period of use for such an expensive digger. I used mine for the first time yesterday and it definatley flexed more than I thought it should have.

By everyone, you're talking thousands of people, ya know? I've only heard of a very few getting broken compared to the number out there.

Default give up the hand diggers upgrade

Do yourself wright upgrade,they dont brake,faster,less stress on the hands & joints,dig a better plug,less trace of you even being their,35 years of detecting land,Earl

Man, that thing is badly corroded! No wonder it broke! Anything that rusty is bound to break.
