Default case shot?

Found these among a pile of musket balls out on an old ranch. They look way to flat to be regular musket projectiles, but appear to be a similar diameter to musket balls found near by...The only thing i can kind of come up with is maybe it's case shot. Ideas?

Default don't think it is case shot

I have dug litterally hundreds of pounds of items from Civil War Battle sites, I have also been through hours of classes and training to be able to fire muzzle loading artillery for the NC State Parks system.

I have never seen case shot be anything other than round balls or regular minnie balls. Not to say it did not happen, but there were standards for weight. On the inside of the lid of Artillery limber boxes there was a chart for distance and time of flight for projectiles. This was so that the soldier preparing the rounds could insert the appropriate time delay fuze based on the distance to target directed by the gunner. For accurate and efffective fire it was super important that all the shells weighed the same, all the shot weighed the same, and all the case shot weighed the same.

These lead pieces are in varying size and shape. I don't know what they are, but I am 99% sure that they are not Case shot, but as my wife loves to point out,...I have been wrong before.

I think that they are deer slugs for a shotgun. It would explain the lack of rifling, and large caliber of the lead

I thought they might be slugs, but they are not tall enough for how wide they are...I google image searched case shot and someone has something very similar...still not sure...

Could they be lead slugs to be melted down and cast for lead round balls? I do something similar for the lead ingots I used for the balls for my muzzle loader that I cast my own round balls for.
