Certainly - I was using the Excalibur II with 10' coil. I have never heard that a PI unit would not pick up Platinum. I am sure one of our resident PI experts can chime in.

That's not true, Craig hit a platinum ring if I remember 16-18"......Believe it! Which forum did you see this.
