Default tool belt for fat people or over the sholder tool bag

Can't seem to find a belt big enough. Was thinking of a over the shoulder tool bag. Any pros and cons on the over the shoulder bag like the ones you see at home depo?

I use a belt and bag but sometimes a fishing vest works great , a nice variety of sized pockets and a large pocket on the back of vest .

You may want to try an army surplus store, they have all kinds of belts and pouches to use.

Just be careful with the over the shoulder ones, you may lose some goodies while bending over. Test it out in the store . . .

Not sure how far sewell is from Bordentown, but harry's army and navy has a pretty big selection of army surplus bags and stuff like that.

I found a Nylon Web Belt at a Dive Shop about $10.00
Nice Friction Buckle, easy on and off, extra long length.

I made a belt from a section of seat belt webbing and some buckles that I bought from a local surplus store.

Default My take on this

As I write this, I am off work with a ruptured disk that migrated. I have trouble walking to the bathroom and the Dr. says if I wait to long for surgery, I may not walk again. This is largely due to carrying loads that were not balanced side to side/
If you are big - I used to have a 60" belt - the last thing you need is a bag hanging on one side. Your back is already under a lot of stress it wasn't designed for.

I learned how to do leather craft so that I could have belts that are large enough. Tandy leather will sell you a 72" belt strap and a buckle and teach you how to make it into a belt. I know cause I used to teach beginning leather craft there.

My plan is to make my next belt and suspenders from non-leather materials. Leather is good, but it is not going to live for years and years if it gets wet/sandy/dirty.

So I started looking around and found this site.

http://www.strapworks.com/

I have not done any biz with them, but I think the materials they sell will work very well for beach/surf detecting and should allow me to NOT havethings hanging off one side or the other. If you do have to have side loads, I strongly hope that you will balance them side to side.

Thanks,
John Morton
