Default DFX Coil Stock and 950

Is this coil pictured the same as the eclipse 950? What are the differences?

The first coil looks like the 950 that was initially released when White's first introduced the DFX. They were emphasizing the dual frequency feature, which explains the decal.

The other coil is the new style 950.

I personally don't care much for the 950 coil. Having said that, I think the "pancake" one (older style) is better built.

Rudy is right... I had the original one on top and from my knowledge there isn't much difference betweent the two... I thought I read once that the newer coil made it more serviceable by design...either one will treat you just fine!

fsdigital12,

That's the same coil I have on my DFX and I use it more than any coil and I have 4x6,6x9,and Super 12.I think White's got everything right when they built this coil for the dfx.Happy hunting,Ken
