Default Permission to hunt an 1810 house

I just got permission to hunt a house that was built in 1810. The owners son doesn't think that its been detected before so with any luck I can come up with some good digs. He also owns another house across the street that was built in the late 1800's and originally owned by a jeweler. Maybe he dropped something on the way to work

Looks like I'll be hitting it tomorrow. I hope I can post a good report tomorrow night. I am told there is a small fish pond (6'x8') in the back yard. I hope that they used it as a wishing well. The owners son tells me that his grandfather covered the pond with a steel grate that was from the original jail in this town. I can't wait to see it.

Just got back and it didn't go as well as I had hoped. The ground is completely covered with iron. I was using my 6x10 coil (smallest that I have) and running the Disc. at 3 on my MXT the and audio was completely muted out by iron targets. I went to 0 Disc. so I could maybe hear some faint chirps between the iron but it was exhausting listing to all of the garbage. I managed to pull several early wheats and a 1924 Buffalo. I won't be going back until I pick up a 4x6 coil. Maybe I can sniff out some goodies then. There has to be some good stuff waiting for me to find it.

That's part of hunting an old home site lots of trash. I'm sure there's lots of good stuff if you keep at it. Good luck.
