Default Treasure story (coins)

So , now that I can safely pack my detector on horses, heres one site I HAVE to hunt this summer

My girlfriends dad, (who we bought a BH Timeranger for Christmas) has told me this story alot, and it always seemed like a risk to pack my detector on a horse for 3 or 4 hours.

Anyhow, he says, in his younger days, the guys would all pack in to a hunting camp, and they would drink and play poker all night. In a wall tent.
This was back in the "Silver Coinage " days
He said , there was alot of falling down, and they used to keep the coins in a coffee can , and that was spilled a few times.
he also said there were times, the snow would come , and they would get out fast, and leave the tent till spring.
And he remembers a few times, the coffe can full of coins had been left all winter, and theyd be picking up coins off the ground.

He says, the forest service had actually moved that trail, (that goes to a high lake) and that the trail is long gone , as far as people are concerned.

He knows the spot, and has wanted to go, but , i was always worried about hurting my $ 800.00 piece of electronics.

I'm thinking its going to happen now, for sure.

I just thought of that , and had to share

Good Luck to you all

dusty
