Default New to the forum! Hi! Tesoro Siler U max

Greetings fellow treasure hunters. I just signed up on this forum and have enjoyed reading all the interesting and informative posts. I look forward to getting to know some of you guys. I currently use a Tesoro Silver U max detector and am just getting use to it. Any tips you can give would be very appriciated. I have a little trouble pin-pointing my targets. I graduated from an old Whites detector and I feel the switch has been an upgrade for sure. My finds to date since i purchased the Tesoro in January have been lots of pennies, about 6 dimes, three nickels, five quarters, two sets of keys and a sterling silver butterfly ring. That does not include all the junk. I tend to find alot of old nails more than anything. I set up for descrimination but I feel that I might be passing alot of good finds over. If anyone has any tips on settings on my detector I'd appriciate it. I look forward to getting to know some of my fellow treasure hunters. Thanks for you time! Good Luck!

Hello from Howell,n.j.!!! I also have a Silver Umax, however I'm brand new to Metal Detecting. From advice from experienced MDer's, I followed their lead and set my DISC just past foil and my SENSITIVITY between 7/8. I also ran an air test with a nickel to help with eliminating "some Nail hits" I've only been out 2 times so far and I find it exciting when I get a hit, even if it is a rusty old nail!! I am still learning....HH--D
