hello everyone,
i bought the ace350 2 weeks ago and have been using it pretty much i have found lots of coins and junk lol. but i just found out my friends property (40 acre farm) is on civil war grounds and he said he found bullets and buckles and such just laying there when they farm. so i said can i bring my detector and he said yeah so i was wondering does the ace 350 get deep enough to find all the good stuff or should i just sell the ace 350 and buy the at pro? i mainly wanted to know if the ace 350 gets as deep as the atpro being they both have the same dd coil. i dont wanna spend the money if they are just as deep as eachother. the reason i questioned depth on the 350 alittle bit is because i did a house that was built 1900 and all i found was 1970's coins about 7 differant coins and 2 hotwheels knock off cars lol. No old coins?????????? thanks rich |

....The AT PRO can go deeper.....do you wear quality headphones? reason I'm asking is for those faint, deep signals, they won't be heard as good with a lower price set....Or you just haven't walked over that spot yet....Has happened to me....

i saw a comparison chart on one of the forums with the ace 250 and at pro. in standard mode on the at pro the depth was similar. when in pro mode on the at pro it went quite a bit deeper. dont remember where it was i saw it though. and with the 350 having the same coil as the pro i am sure it would be closer if not the same

Its a good detector you have to start out with. I Started with an ace 250 a year ago and found cival war relics in Annapolis. I just picked up the at pro and if you need help with that site we could compare lol. I'm new to the hobie as well. The best way to pic out junk is to digg it and lern how your detector acts when it hits metals.

I've "heard" that the AT Pro and the 350 were pretty much the same machine, and as someone stated, they are about the same on depth.
http://www.kellycodetectors.com/compare/?a=124 -- Can compare the two here, specs look pretty much same... With the AT Pro having higher frequency which is better for jewelry and gold, and it has an under water headphone jack. |

i was told more depth(or actually being able to hear the target deeper) and more options of which an important one is manual ground balancing. there is a post on here somewhere with a link to an engineer that works for fisher stating that once the minor problem is corrected it is as good as any topend machine out there and at the price of 600. coyote is the one i believe who posted it. that is one of the reasons i have one coming as for an engineer working with another company stating that about a competitors product speaks wonders to me.

ground balancing is the ability to adjust your detector to the mineralization in the soil, the ace 350 is a "turn on and go" machine and can't be adjusted (fixed)
the AT pro must be ground balanced(manual) which adjusts the detector to the mineralization, so going from different conditions like wet sand to dry sand you can adjust or re balance the detector for the different conditions. and also tweek the ground balance if needed. __________________ |

yes, it'll get chatty(false) so when ya go from dry sand to wet ya reground balacne until stable. the ace 350 is preset(fixed) but the DD coil will help with mineralization. now on my GTI it has automatic ground balance and will automaticly adjust to the different mineralization conditions
