Default Propointer in use while detector is on?

Not sure if the title is confusing or not but whenever I energize the Garrett Propointer to locate something my White's MXT starts buzzing. I know it's just electrical interference but I'm just wondering if it could harm the electronics in the MXT? I usually swing the MXT away so that it isn't so close. ??

My MXT works fine with a White's Bullseys II PP, but yes, you can pick EMI from a lot of stuff.....never heard of a PP frying a MD.....

Just don't press the "EMP" button and you should be fine.

Default I have company in my boat

Whew! I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. My M6 can go absolutely nuts at times when I turn on my ProPointer. I have to point the coil as far away from the target as possible so I won't pick up the interference between the two. I'm not worried about any damage to the machine, just the damage to my nerves It gets bad at times.

I use a Minelab Safari and a pistol probe, I do get interference when probing, what I do now is, hit the menu button to take it out of detecting mode, then hit the pinpoint button twice to go back when I'm done with the probe. I guess you have to pause the detector somehow when probing. Just a quick solution I use... Happy hunting.

Thanks for the replies. Just didn't want to mess anything up. I usually try to swing it away as far as I can and reduce the noise in the headset.
