Unhappy Bye-Bye Treasure

Well, I hate to do it, but hard times are forcing me to.
Gotta generate some cash so off to the refinery it goes.
This is all the silver, gold, and one platinum ring I've found since I started detecting in May 2010. Time to start over I guess.
It's gonna be A sad day tomorrow when I ship this off, but A very happy one when I get my check. HH

Sad to see the 18k ring go you found while we were at the lake but I guess thats a big chunck of money and easy come easy go. Have you calculated your approx return yet? Hopefully work will pick up for the both of us.
Of course this will really cut into the detecting time. Win some loose some.

I hate to see that ring go to, but I did take it to the pawn shop to see if they could give me any info on it. I was told that it's A modern stamp and modern cast so it isn't very old. And yes, I know approximately what I'm getting back.

I just sold some of my finds today for the very first time in 30 years of detecting. Just 5 gold rings and a ear ring I didnt even think was gold. Got $127.00 which will go toward my next detector. Selling off a few silver eagles tomorow.

Not being critical and knowing the Karats and weights, I would say you got ripped off badly.

4 rings were very thin plus one band. Not much weight at all.

For a first 3/4 of a year detecting, that's a nice collection of finds. Together with your almost $600 in clad and you've paid off a fair chunk of your E-Trac!

Default Gems

Unless they are going to pay you for the gems in the rings then you should take them out. If the gems are not real I wouldnt bother but if they are and they are not going to pay you for the gems just the gold take the gems out.

That's a lot of jewelry for less than a year of detecting. I hope you get a big check and you'll replace the jewelry really quick.

This is from ARA's website:

Stone Removal

Our unique stone removal process enables us to chemically recover your stones without any breakage or damage. After sorting your colored stones out, the diamonds are put through a wash and frost, any CZ’s are sorted out, and all stones are returned to you separated into colored stones, CZ’s, and diamonds. This process is a free service we provide to you.

Now that's what I call service!
Keith
