Default wireless headphones

Ok, I'll admit it, headphone cords drive me nuts. I know guys have gotten Radio Shack wireless sets, but around here all RS, or anyone else for that matter, has are thos home entertainment headphones with the tabletop transmitters or Bluetooth for cell phones. Does anyone carry a set that would be decent on a metal detector?

i have the radio shack pair and being wireless is very nice, infact i have both pairs they offer, the behind the head and also the over the head pair.the over the head pair(80 bucks) hold a charge longer. these don't have a delay and thats what ya gotta watch out for if ya get other pairs. i have heard that certain blu tooth pair have delay. i know white sells a pair but they are pricey.

The Whites only work with the V3i. It's a proprietary setup. As for RS here, they don't have them and can't or won't get them. All they have is the ones that have the tabletop transmitters, nothing portable at all.

I bought the Older RS headphones (Model 33-1253 now out of stock) from a FMDF member. They did not work with my Tesoro Vaquero but do work with the BH 505. I then went to RS and they have the New model (Model 33-283)
for $80. They should be available on the RS web site. They work on my Vaquero so bye bye cords.

i really like the feel of the RS 33-283 headphones over the older behind the head pair, and they fold up nice and have a carry bag. so nice not havin your headphones torn off your head by the cord gettin caught on stuff.

For anyone interested in a cheap wireless fix. I found one of these "as seen for tv Jupiter Jacks" that connect to a cell phone when you are in the car and broadcast on a fixed FM station to your radio. I hooked it to my MD using many of the supplied jacks to the regular headphone jack of my MD. I then used an old Roxio MP3 player that has an FM radio tuner. I plug my headphones into the MP3 player. I have not tried it in the field cause its winter, but it works at home. It sells at CVS and other stores. I got mine for $5.00. I am cheap. Here is the commercial (As Seen On Tv)...

I've been using a Scosche fm transmitter from Walmart (about $12) and my Worktunes headphones. Works ok but around here I get a lot of bleed over from local fm stations, which drowns out the signal from my detector sometimes.

That's a problem you are always going to have with a setup like that in an area with close by or strong FM stations. That's why I looked for another solution.

Does the wireless not affect the detectors at all for interference.
