Default San Diego

I will be spending a week in San Diego. Plan to spend most of it at the beach swinging the Etrac. It will be a nice change from the hard packed AZ digging I'm used to.

Any hints for a neophyte beach hunter is appreciated.

Some times that perfect 24 on the DFX isn't a pull tab...

Good luck.... find the 'busy' beaches, look for cuts or hunt the towel line. HH RickO

Day 1 - Spent the day at Imperial Beach by the pier. Hunted hard, came away with a some nasty pennies and assorted junk and weights.

It was a beautiful day, I had a great time. Plan to move north up the coast and keep hunting.

WHICH BEACHES ARE THE BUSIEST??

Cannot help with the 'busy' information, suggest you ask some locals. HH RickO

Thanks RickO. I'll just hit as many beaches as I can this week and have fun.

Day 2 - Pacific Beach today. 4 hour hunt. 49 cents and a pocket of junk. Had a good time, still looking for my first piece of jewelry.

You might try Carlsbad. I only hunted there once and it seemed promising but I never made it back. It's not far north of you. Good luck!

Pacific Beach, then hit Millers Field for a cold one when you're done.

Third trip to the beach. La Jolla Shores today. About $3 in clad, a 1946 wheatie in the grass above the beach and a gold colored butterfly with about 30 clear stones. Really shiny and looks good, but I suspect it is a kids trinket.

My camera does not have a macro setting.
