Not sure that we can make Batavia on the 20th. I'm having some medical procedures done this month and I think that date might be a problem. Not certain though. What's up with the Rockford meeting and hunt?

OK, It's now March, and we still don't have a permanent hunting spot? Can we all come together with an agreed area. Lets talk about this.

We need to. I thought for the Rockford meeting that Bowman had a place to hunt. Since everybody seems to want to meet somewhere different perhaps we should have monthly get togethers at different locations throughout the summer and fall-till the snow flies.

Default An idea

Guys, I have an idea if Bowman should happen not to respond. We can always pick a park to hunt in Rockford. I was looking at Rockfords park district site. Lots to choose from. Just a thought. I know I am as anxious as anyone to get started hunting.

Default Got room for one more?

I'm rather a novice but would like to hunt with a group to learn what I'm doing wrong.

mbustin, I also live in Wheaton.

Back from vacation. My property is available. I was just promoted at my job so I have been very busy. Saturdays work best on my property: due to travel the times that work best are 8 a.m. until 2 pm. The road out to the property is good, this time of the year the actual property can be messy, no problem for me.

P.S: I can't promise it will be a "goldmine" of finds but there has too be more than my simple ace 250 has found and at least it gets people out and you don't have to worry about people complaining about holes.

Any saturday works "March 26th"?

Sweet! Then it's set. Going to be exciting. It will be good to put some faces to the names on this forum. See you all on the 26th.

Paul

Nice to meet you Paul (SSparky). Nice to Know there is someone else enjoying the hobby in the same town. I'm fairly new to the hobby myself. I hit North Side Park yesterday for just an hour. My first time out, just wanted to get out before all the rain hit. Just a few clad pennies, clad dime, and some pull tabs. Hope to see you on the 26th, or maybe before that if it gets nice enough.

P.S. Are you planning to come for Batavia hunt on Sunday March 20th???

Oh, I wanted to mention that my Father and brother will be joining us. Shouldn't be a problem with 100 acres.

We could still meet at the Clocktower and then head out to Bowman's. We could meet at 8am instead of 9am. I am guessing it takes about 30 minutes to get to Bowmans. Or we could just meet at Bowman's place. What do you think? It doesn't matter to me because I know the area.

I wouldn't mind meeting at the clock tower, but Since I don't know the area it might be wiser just to me at Bowmans so we only have to drive to one location, and get more hunting time in, but what ever is decided is fine with me.

I think that is best also. With some good directions and his address we can just meet at Bowman's. It would be better then backtracking from the clocktower and wasting more time. On with the hunt!

I have never been there but I am sure Bowman will post the directions. In an earlier post he mentions Hwy 20 and Meridian Road. I am sure it will all work out by the 26th. I am ready to dig!

The Clock Tower is right off of I90. It would probably be a easy, central location to meet at for people coming to the area who are not familiar with the area. I know the area OK and I would still like to follow Bowman in. By the way Bowman. Thank you very much for offering to host the event!! I guess it should be up to Bowman How do you want to do it?

Good job keeping this thread and dream alive folks!! I've watched alot of threads like this end with nothing to show for it but good intentions. Sounds like fun!! I"m looking forward to meeting and hunting with everyone!! So I got this right...Sunday the 20th by Mike and Saturday the 26th in Rockford by Bowman?
