Default Home Depot Digger

We couldn't find a normal one locally, so we went to Home Depot and found a small shovel to mod. A little mallet work and then we took it to the grinder. It was lots of fun to make, then we practiced with it in the front yard.

When I started this hobby I bought the same one...got a little more radical on it's butt with the grinder.
Worked real good for the few months I used it.

That looks like a great tool. Around how much does one cost.

It was about $8.00, and it's stainless steel.

Wish we had a Home Depot close by......nearest one is in Pueblo, CO which means driving over Lavita Pass (12,200 feet) in the winter. Only for the crazy or very brave!!!

FYI those only have a metal shaft part way (at least the one I used to have did). It was recessed in plastic, which is just where it broke when I put a bit too much pressure on it...

Yes. It is definitely only for cutting the plug and removing dirt from a hole. After being flattened, the metal will bend with too much pressure, and I'm sure the handle could be broken. I have solid camping shovel for anything that requires force.
