Default Thrift Store Find of a Lifetime

I was shopping for local history books at a thrift store and decided to go up to glass case at checkout. Boy am I glad I did because I found this baby. You water hunters should know what it is for sure. I got it at the amazing price of (hold on now) $4.99.

Most of the time if they don't know what an object is, it is way over priced.

Yeah, that inefficient pricing due to lack of knowledge cuts in both directions, though. An acquaintance of mine found a 1968 Fender Telecaster in about 90% condition w/ original case at a junk shop in Indiana for $799. The purveyor said "it's priced about what a new guitar sells for, but the old ones are made better and it's in pretty good condition..." as his reasoning for it being priced so 'high'. The real reason, obvioulsy, is that he didn't have the slightest clue what he had so he thought $799 was shooting for the moon. My friend said that he probably realized his mistake when he paid cash on the spot without negotiating a cent off the asking price and literally skipped out the door
