Default A Barber kinda Day!

Tim got roped into moving someone today, so I went hunting with a friend on the forum that lives a few blocks from me. He had a place to hunt that he had hunted a few times with no luck. He's just starting to learn the E-trac and wanted some guidance with it. He isn't without some really nice finds thus far, but he is still getting used to the tones and numbers. The house we hunted was built in 1917 and had a lot of land to cover. It took us about a half hour before I hit silver, but it was a good one! The goodies today were all found around the old clothesline... I got an 1894 S Barber Quarter first. A little while later Jim got his first good find, an 1899 Indian Head. He had never found an indian and was super happy to get one in the 1800's and I was happy for him too. We searched more of the yard and I found an old for amusement only token back at the clothesline and soon after found my second barber! This one was a 1914 D Barber Dime in AWESOME condition... By far my nicest barber. The details on the back are still so prominant that it feels like braille. Here are the pics of the barbers...

The white looking parts on the pictures is actually like the original mirror finish around the lettering and head. I'm impressed to actually see the veins in the leaves on the reverse.

Beautiful coins! It is so nice to see silver without thumb scratches!

I like how you phrased the token! HH

Amazing barbers, especially that dime. That coin in that condition should fetch at least $70+. Very impressive.

I'm really considering an e-trac. I checked some videos online about it, and it doesn't seem to be able to tell the difference between a clad quarter and a silver one. What makes the machine so much better than say an mxt?

Again amazing finds, thanks for the nice pics.

I learned something! I had forgotten people dried clothes on clotheslines long ago, so naturally thats a place where coins would drop from pockets! I'll be sure to seek this area out next time I MD any home older than 1966 or so. Thanks for posting!
