I use a pair I got from Radio Shack, only $20.00 but they work. Steve.

I got some from Radio Shack [forget the brand name] They are on sale now for $15.
They have a volume adjustment on each earpiece. Kind of handy when your hearing is not the best

If you have a good detector, don't compromise on headphones. I use Gray Ghost Ultimate, I think they were around $130.

Steve/Merf - I have the same behind the head, adjustable volume, headset from Radio Shack. It has been good to me. However, recently I found a pair of Koss that were lying around a computer lab at school and I borrowed them. What a huge difference they made!. Signals were much clearer and louder and since they cover your ears, there was less ambient noise. I had forgotten how good the 1st pair of Koss's that I owned were. They broke while MDing and that's why I bought the Radio Shack's. I replced the school's with another set, (the Koss's didn't belong there! ) I will keep the RS as a back up or use on hotter days.

Jason,

I had Koss headphones in the past, they worked O.K. for a while, but then just stopped working. I think I might stay away from them. Maybe I just got a bad set? Anyone else have trouble with Koss?

The Whites phones leave a lot to be desired except the hurt to your ears
I suggest Grey Ghost originals or Any of the Killer B's. These are the ones I use on my DFX , MXT and have used on the XLT before I let it go. The sound difference is incredible and you'll say why didn't I do this sooner. Let me know if you need any more help.

I recently purchased Grey Ghost Originals for use with my MXT and I'm very happy with them. Cost is around $90.

Things I like:

All day comfort, either with our without my baseball cap. I forget I'm even wearing them.
Sound quality.
Single volume control makes adjustment simpler and is fine with my hearing.
Volume limiter.
Clarity of low volume sounds.
Sounds around you are blocked somewhat during use, but you can still have a conversation without removing them. The toggle switch allows you to turn off the sound but leave your detector on.

Not much I don't like so far!
