Default Arrow Maybe, Anyone Have a Guess?

I found this on an elementary school ground about 10 feet away where the kids play for recess. Thankfully nobody dug it up as it was just below the surface less than an inch down. The one end is very rusty and sharp. The other end looks like a rock but it's some kind of metal, and is heavy. It is 9 1/2 inches long. I thought maybe it was some kind of bow and arrow but I tend to think wrong. What does everyone else think this could be? Thanks.

If it is heavy then it is most likely not an arrow. It could be a spear though. Since they are a hand held weapon they would be stronger and heavier than a projectile weapon (as well as larger).

Thanks blklion and goofy for identifying it. The school was built in the mid 1950's and I searched soldering irons from that time and it sure looks like it without the handle.
