Default Friday at the park again, more silver!

Friday afternoon I hit the park for a couple hours. I'm amazed at how
many old coins I'm pulling out of this place! Started digging wheats right away. Found a 1911,
1912, 1913, 1914 and some 20's 30's and one 44.

One of the pennies was a 1928 Canadian cent.

After about 15 minutes, I had me a silver dime! An 1894 Barber.

About one foot away from the dime my next target was a 1902 V-nickel. Also dug my first shield nickel a little later. I cant see a date on it.

Also dug an ornate cap of some kind and part of an old key.

The rest was a couple square nails, some trash and a game token. Also some clad. Interestingly I dug the same number of new and old coins. Pretty good ratio. Was a fun couple hours.

You are absolutely killing it where you are hunting! I haven't seen a Canadian penny like that before. Congrats on the great variety of coins and on the first shield. Love the old key too.

Great Job!!!
Doug

is there a mint mark on that dime if so its proply an o if it was an s than you would half 3 and a half million dollars on your hands. But it sure would be nice to have one of them 1894 s's wouldent it.

Went metal dedecting couple of weeks ago and found my first ever coin. its a beatiful british victorian florin from 1860. i found it in a field near my house in the uk. its the only coin and the only thing worth keeping ive ever found in 2 years. i really need a better metal dedector. if i had a better metal detector i would be able to find more good stuff like coins, rings etc. at the moment i am using a famous trails MD-3006 metal detector.

I have had great luck with my Teknetics T2. I found a 1911 canadian one cent piece at 12 inches the other day, it sounded off like it was just under the surface.

Nice digs John. The Canadian cent is the first I have seen like that. Found a few Canadian's myself this weekend(I took them into protecting custody). Were you using your F5? I was wondering what you think about it now that you have had it for a while. I'm really liking mine. HH.
