Default ring return

I got a positive ID on my ring find, unfortunetly the owner passed away from cancer three years back. I was however able to locate his wife and returned it to her today. She was crying and couldnt believe i had found it. She said he lost it right out of high school and that his parents couldnt afford to get him a new one. It was the best feeling in the world to return that ring, i hope everyone can experience that feeling at least once in theyre lifetime.

Great story. Nice to put a smile on an older persons face. I did that yesterday but not anything to do with MD'ing. Just a nice feeling that you carry along with you thru the day.

that is just a terrific story, makes a person feel good to know that human kindness still exists.

Thanks for the story, you will be rewarded here in the near future I'm sure.

Was there a story with this as to where you found the ring?

The area the ring was found in was a local swimming hole years ago. Locals did a lot of hunting in the area as well. I live in a small town, and my uncle happened to graduate around 1958, so i brought the ring to him and he provided a name, and also told me that the man the ring belonged to used to hang out at this swimming hole. I then went to the local historical society and found a 1958 yearbook and found the name to go with the initials, and made sure no one else in that class had the same initials. I then found the mans obituary and it listed his home address and suviving family members, and come to find out i went to school with one of his children. I had enough to convince me that this ring belonged to this man, so i contacted the family and was able to make the return.
