Smile School Day = two rings

Went out to Deep Creek to hunt the soccer fields, but they were loaded with kids playing. Decided to come back home and hunt my old high school. Sure glad I did. Found two rings. One old and one new. The old one is silver and the new one is 10k gold. I am sure I can get the new one back to the owner. The information is in the ring and they live locally. Was a great day to be out hunting. Plan on a repeat tomorrow. Here is this afternoons loot.

Crazy the old Craddock High still produces the good finds like that... must be the continued use of the sports fields. Way to get our there and score the goodies Hollis!

Yea, they are going to tear it down and build 205 houses on the property so figure I better hunt while I can.

Default A Very nice thing

To give that ring back to the owner..let us know what he/she says or does. If it were mine, you and a guest would get a nice dinner. WTG

You would be surprised. Now days, with replacement insurance, they do not have the attachment they once had. I found one last year at the beach and located the owner. He had been surfing at Virginia Beach when he lost it in 2009. He graduated this June. He lives locally and I gave him my name address and phone number and he never came and picked it up. It is a beautiful ring and I just knew he would come and get it, but he never did. Guess he had already replaced it with the insurance. That was the only thing that made sense to me.
He never even provided a phone number or address to contact him or send it to him.

I would still want the original ring that I ordered. It would be the ring that I would have received at the ring ceremony and the one that all my friends would have customarily turned once around. I would have taken the original and given you the insurance replacement if there was one. Some people just aren't sentimental about stuff like that or maybe something happened to him? (hopefully not).

I don't know if many schools do ceremonies anymore. I knbow we didn't have one they just brought them to us in class and that was in 2001.

I don't know about other areas but in Dade County Public Schools it's a huge overrated event held in junior year. It's great promotion for the ring companies and the junior class makes a lot of money on extra ticket sales for friends and family that come to watch the event. The students really like this event. I just think it's way too much pomp & circumstance for what basically is just handing out a ring - but hey what do I know I am just the assistant principal!?
