Default nobody wanted my silver

I went to dump some of my silver today and I was surprised that not one of the placec that buy gold of silver wanted any of my 40% kennedys.

I was wondering if anyone else had any problems getting rid of their 40% kennedys?

And where do you guys go to dump these things for quick cash?

Iam dumping my silver due to unforeseen expense that needs to be taken care of rather soon.

I was trying to get rid of 80 1965-70 kennedy halves.

Some one on here would probably be interested if you named a price. A lot of places won,t take canadian silver as well. It,s all about the content of silver and such.

In the classifieds. Check the rules before hand.

I have done my best auctions with the one day shot's just list the item for what you are willing to accept then sit back and watch the bidding war!

No one wants 40%ers. I sold mine to another fellow CRH-er for $49.50 per roll a while ago. That's a pretty high price already and I doubt you'll get much more even with silver at $21/oz

My normal place that I used to sell scrap silver told me "Silver is not worth my time anymore". He also now pays less for scrap gold if the stones are missing from the rings. I have started taking silver to my local coin dealer. He buys scrap silver too.

I have checked with three of those payday loan types of places locally that buy silver. I asked them about the 40% halves and everyone of them told me that the US mint did not make any coins with silver in them after 1964. I couldn't believe it.

Doug

I have a friend who works in a coin/jewelry shop and he told me that most places want to see silver in larger amounts at a time or it's relaly not worth their time and energy, silver coins especially, they want to see at least a half bag, they don't want to deal in change or small amounts. Gold is a whole different game, they take it in pieces. I couldn't find a buyer for the silver jewelry I've found since it doesn't add up to much. I'm sure there is somewhere you can unload it and if you do pass the info on cause we're all looking.

Good luck!

I always take any scrap silver I have to my coin dealer at his coinshop, he'll take anything with silver and gives me a real fair price too. but I have known him for years too and that might make a difference.
