Default Fisher 1225-x vs White DFX

I was hunting this great school yard that I always go to because there's always coins there , Over the past two years I've pulled almost 200 coins from that Tot Lot. I swing a White DFX. I guy came into the yard swinging this ancient 1225-x Fisher. He was going over spots that I've gone over a zillion times and getting coins, lots of coins I'm out there with all the gadgets you can imagine and this fellow has a screwdriver. My question is do I need to turn in my DFX and get a $150.00 cheapy or obviously I'm doing something wrong. Perhaps I should go back to my old Gold Bug

Thats funny! because when i first read the post i'm thinkin how in the world can anyone want to compare a 1225x to a DFX.

Well it's actually easy because it boils down to a single low frequency and very quick recovery speed detector vs a dual frequency slow recovery detector. I know you can switch to a 3khz but it ain't the same.

You may get the deeper ones but he's gonna get the shallow close together targets because he will hear more of them.

No single detector can do it all and knowing your detectors strengths and weaknesses will help determine what other detector will help find what your missing IMHO. HH Bill

Wayne do you have a target garden? If not put one in and "seed" it just like you just discribed, and try different settings till you get the results you want.

Loved this one. I was given hell when I tested this low end Fisher (10" coil fitted) and found it was a fraction deeper than the Minelab Sovereign Xs with its 10" coil.
Its a rather feature light machine though and on many sites it won't do half as well.
