Default I'm liking the Dual Field :)

After Wednesday's first hunt, I got out there another 3 times for the negative tides. Last night I found 8 pennies, 2 dimes, and 2 totally black encrusted wheat pennies, once all the black came off they were skinny little discs but you could still see that they were wheaties. This morning I found a quarter, a junk earring, and a magnetic bracelet. Tonight I got another big earring, I have to clean it up still to see if it's anything precious. I also got a very heavy men's ring, I'm not sure what type of metal it is, the inside is very shiny and has no hallmarks, but it looks to be expensive and it fits. It also is not magnetic. I've been digging a lot less trash and iron and been selective in the signals I'm digging. I've been listening for the deep whispers and usually they've either been jewelry or something unique. Here are some pictures of the ring. Thanks for looking and hope everyone has a great weekend!

Nice ring! Looks like a real honker! Way to go with the "whispers". Makes a big difference.

Steve if you have a scale weigh it... I found a similar ring that turned out to be platinum... was a little over 14 grams that ring of yours looks similar...

Get good with the PI and you will find what the VLF machines can't even hear ... keep listening for the slightest breaks in the threshold... those are harder than the whispers to pick up... not to advertise but Clives book on the DF is pretty good he has two that are on the DF and Eric Fosters machine that book is also good...

Steve... if the ring comes up as foil it could be platinum... don't worry about Joe he was helping me paint my house today and the fumes most likely got to him

Thanks everyone for the comments. I weighed the ring, it came in at 9.3 grams. I used my Mizar gold tester and tested for white gold which would confirm Platinum if it was and the not gold light came up. I went to the mall and saw 4 different jewelers tonight just to see if they could give me some idea as to what it was. Some of these people were totally clueless, the two that seemed to have an idea guessed either stainless steel or titanium. I just wish the ring was marked.

Poptopking, the magnetic bracelet was a whisper and when I got closer to finding it, it did make strange noises lol.
Craig, as for these breaks in the threshold, are you saying basically that it'll go quiet over a spot versus the dull tiny signals that the whispers are? also please keep Joe away from the paint lol. I don't want him digging up only iron. I dug enough of it for you, him, and I with the first defective DF lol. I'm going to keep reading over the two books on water hunting from Clive now that I'm actually getting the right experience under my belt.
