Has anyone gone to a state fairground and MD'd? I would think it would be a gold mine especially as the state fair where I live has been held at the same location since the late 1800s. Is this considered the same as a public park or do you need to contact someone about it? Who would you contact in order to get permission?

state fairs have owners usually, some others are owned by the state. I would contact the owner, if their is one, and ask permission. If its state owned, its public property, and fair game, IF there are not any "no detecting" laws in your city.

The fair grounds in the states I've lived in have been state owned and fair game for detecting.
