Default Navy button...what's the date range???

I dug this today at my current "hot spot" It was raining so the moist ground made for good hunting. It was on edge about 6 in down. i'm pretty sure it's navy because of the anchor, but I'm not really sure about the date this was made. The back side was missing and I also noticed that the eagle head is facing to the left. I've only been able to find info on line for navy buttons with the eagle facing to the right. Is this significant or does it really matter???

All of the examples of similar buttons HERE around around 1840's - 1860's... however, the eagle on your is facing the opposite way... but I would say sometime around the same period give or take.

In this button the eagle is actually facing to the right. In 1941 it was ordered that the eagle should face right, before that it usually faced left.
However before that your navy had some troubles with the eagle as in cap badges and sleeve insignia eagle's facing changed from one uniform style to another.
