What is it? Brooch?

Hi I am new to detecting and I found this in front of an 1850's home 12" down. Despite the picture, there is no rust on the item. Any help would be sincerely appreciated!

Looks like a broach to me.......Nice Find!!!

Sorry I should have put this in the first post. The Brooch (broach?) is a bit larger than a silver dollar and it has a hollow post on the back for something to slide into I would guess. Shows gold color on the outside ring. Inside ring probably held a large stone. There is fine wire between the two rings. Each "diamond" (glass) has a cup around it and each of those is soldered to the outside ring.

I just got my White's MXT after years of thinking about it and I have been out twice. So far I have a 1995 Quarter which was on the second swipe. Then the Broach on the 2nd time out. I also found an old axe head and a shovel both of which about blew out my eardrums on overload. lol.
