Default A new military button

OK so check this out, I have never dug one like this, looks old and is very "worn"<-- get it? HA!!! oooh I amuse myself.

You have a US Civil War era eagle button. This style was made from 1854 to 1875. Very nice find, Steve in so az

hey Steve this button is a one piece and would be an earlier type (before the civil war era) and could be as early as the 1820's but more than likely 1830's to 1840's . it is a great piece and i was wondering Osiris if it had a letter on the shield because it looks like it might have one but is hard to make out (maybe from the dirt or to much wear on it ) .
