Default First hunt as a resident, SILVER!

Finaly made the move to the east coast. Only been here a little over a week and I've been itching to do some detecting to relax and forget about moving boxes and all the other !!!! from a cross country move. Had about an hour of free time after dinner tonight so I grabbed my detector and headed for a small park almost walking distance from my new home. Signals everywhere, alot of coins! I was digging lots of newer change, then under a very old tree, quarter signal. Dug it and out popped a 1937 quarter! I rechecked the hole and still got a nice coin signal. After scooping out a little more dirt, I recovered a nice 1942 Mercury dime! The place is full of targets so I'll be going there alot in the near future to start digging everything!! Will start posting pics when I get my own computer set up.

Congrats on the finds and that you've got a park like that in walking distance! Nice!

cool stuff!

If you ever wouldn't mind some tag along company I live on the south shore and commute into boston for class 3 days a week(mon, wed, thurs), im done with class by 1215 on most days would enjoy getting to detect with somebody because i'm just getting back into it with my new Teknetics omega 8000 and would like to be able to see how to milk the most out of it by comparing with a fellow detectors settings at the same place.

Let me know! thanks and good luck either way,

I wouldnt mind hunting with someone, I just don't know of alot of places to hunt yet being new to the area. Plus I'm looking for work and married with two kids so it's kinda hard to schedule hunts at the moment. I would go every day if I could! Will let ya know when I can get out.
