I bought a 5.75 inch concentric coil for my Vaquero a month or two ago, and I've been amazed at how it changed the machine's personality, so to speak. It's great in trashy parks and tot lots, and much easier to pinpoint with.
So my question is this, what other coils do you have for your Vaquero, other than the stock 9x8, and what do you use for what type of hunting? What do you feel are "must have" coils for the Vaquero??? I love the 5.75 concentric, and I won't part with it. I only use the 9x8 concentric when in wooded areas, or yards / areas with little trash, or where I'm looking for that tiny bit of extra depth. I'm wondering what coil I need to buy next, so any input is appreciated. __________________ |

I've owned my Vaquero for 2 months now and just ordered the 5.75 concentric for my 2nd coil.I'm sure I will love it.
![]() This machine is very good on nickels and has helped me find 3 gold rings since I got it. The 1st one within a day of receiving the Vaquero. I will probably pick up the 5.75 widescan in a few months to compare it with it's concentric brother. __________________ |

When I went out to a park with the then new 5.75 concentric, the first target I hit, was a diamond ring, my first. . I do love the coil in trashy spots / tot lots and parks. It does lose depth compared to the stock coil, but in it's place it's a great coil. I think anyone who has a vaquero and occasionally hunts trashy spots would love it / need it.Thanks for your input, and you'll love the 5.75, I bet....

I have the stock 8 by 9 coil, which I use the most because of the depth.. The the 5.75 concentric and wide scan coils. Getting away from the smaller coils around older houses due to ground fill covering the coins..Need to play with the 5.75 concentric in trashy areas..There really isn't that much trash sniffing with the concentric over the stock coil, however the wide scan seems to be a bit better. And, then I have a 3 by 18 clean sweep...It will snipe a small ring easy at five inches.. Right now they are letting the grass grow, so it is difficult to use it for coin hunting where the coins have some depth.. You tend to float it on the grass, four to five inches off the ground and coins going down to 6 inches ,means the site is one you will return to. Some time in July, I may thin out one or both of the 5.75 coils..Before you go for another coil, get a Garrett Pro Pointer..My two cents, cordially Nad
