Default Pro pointer depth ???

Hello
I just got a new pro pointer and was wondering if there was someway to get more depth out of it. I only get about two inches at best now.
Thanks Tony

That is about what I got out of my pro pointer. I was happy with it, although it was frustrating sometimes trying to get the target in range of the pointer. The pistol probe is a pulse detection pin pointer and will get 4-5 inches but it's much larger and in my opinion, cumbersome.

Yah but not quick and easy. Turn on ProPointer and then put a coin on the side of it towards the back end and slide it forward until it starts to go off. Then back it off until it stops. Can double the detection distance sometimes. Video of that floating around here somewhere. Comes in handy sometimes in the field.

I'll agree with Diggler, the coin method works for increasing the sensitivity. If you want to lower the sensitivity, first turn on the unit with a coin at the tip, remove the coin and begin searching. Great for tiny items hidden in the dirt. I practiced it and both methods work fine.

The link that was mentioned in this thread is:

I tried it a few days ago on the beach and it worked perfectly, I got a signal without having to use the scoop again!

My only advice is have a coin from home with you as I have used a found one and of course left it on the sand only realizing when I got home.

Am happy with the 2 inches on a coin.. You are trying to pin down an item once the hole is opened, or in jewelry hunting, wanting the items close to the surface.when hole digging is frowned upon. Get used to the pro pointer, it will tell you the size of the item.. Something large goes off all over the place, a coin is specific to one area...Cordially Nad HH
