Default Finds from old Baseball field..

Earlier today I did some research & found the location of a older baseball field that was used from the 1950's until the 1980's..It was located on city property so I headed over to do some detecting. I found some newer change, 6-wheats & a 10K gold filled mens ring, (Looks like its been there a while)..I know theres silver there, I just couldn't find it today..I was jumping all over the outer edges trying to find where the bleachers set, I don't think I ever did find the spot..

Congrats on the gold! I'd bet that the silver is there too.

Found the picture of the 18k ring I found a while back, It looks even worse then the one I found today..Is there any good way to clean these up some. I left this on in peroxide over night & it didn't do anything. Do all older plated & gold filled rings come out of the ground like this.

I don't know that they all come out of the ground that way! Those are a couple of but ugly rings

The plating wears off, then it chips, then water gets under the edge of the plating, freezes, expands, and knocks more plating off. plated rings don't last in the ground.

Yeah pretty much, the two I've found did.

When I find a plated ring I'll let you know... LOL! So far I've only found a small silver ring at the volleyball court. One is better than none!
