Hearing Aids,Ace 250 & beaches

I wear a hearing aid in both ears. I got the Ace 250 because of the good reviews and the external speaker,I get feedback from the hearing aids sometimes when I wear headphones. I thought with the external speaker I would not need headphones.Recently at Myrtle Beach,SC I used the headphones(after alot of adjusting to eliminate feedback)and couldn't believe the difference in the tones.I only hunted about an hour found some dip can lids and other trash.I will be using headphones from now on! As far as the Ace performance on the beach, I thought it did well.I searched in coin and jewlery modes with the sensitivity at 3 bars. I searched in dry and wet sand with no problems. I plan to use it on some hopefully less searched NC beaches over the 4th of July and will share my results and with some luck my worthwhile finds.

Yep, headphones do make the difference. Glad you could compensate for the hearing aids. You may check with some of the headphone manufacturers (like Killer Bee) and see if their technical people have any recommendations. I am also glad to hear your 250 worked in the wet sand, this is not always the case due to the salt/mineralization. You may not find it working so well on other beaches. It is a good machine, just has some drawbacks around wet, salt sand (and it is not a water machine). HH RickO

I wear 2 hearing and my loss is 80percent. I take my aids off and use a headset. The Ace is loud enough I dont need the aids when using the headset. The Ace is louder than my MXT but with the MXT I use a headset that covers my ears and with the Ace I use one I took from an old CD player

I WEAR A BAHA IMPLANT ON ONE EAR OR SHOULD I SHOULD SAY ON ONE SIDE OF MY HEAD. bUT MY HEAD PHONE FIT OVER THE IMPLANT AND WORK AS GOOD AS THE AID THAT STAPS ON IT. oNLY DRAW BACK CAN'T HEAR WHEN i TAKE MY PHONE OFF ON THAT SIDE

I just turn off my hearing aids and turn the volume up on the headphones
