Default So What Did You Find Today?

I personally love reading daily haul sheets. I keep a journal of the date, location, ground conditions, and what I found every time I hunt. Which has been two times so far. If any of you do something similar I'd love to see what you got! Treasure, junk and all!

I stared a spread sheet that at the moment just has clad counts (since I mainly just modern coin shoot.) But I like to get a picture of what I am pulling in. The dates on there are just when I recorded the haul, the hunts are normally over a few evenings.

The full blog has pictures of all the finds.

Very cool little spreadsheet! Now I was meaning to ask someone... what does one do with the really beat up chewed out pennies they find?

Keep them? I don't know. I have talked to a lot of financial institutions and no one will take them. I have thousands and thousands of these things sitting around in gallon size ziplock bags just begging to be cashed in.

If anyone knows how to trade them in please let me know, these things are useless.

Well that's annyoing. I'd say more than half the pennies I find are completely trashed.

Some artistic person should gather all of the trash pennies from all of us, and make some sort of sculpture out of them, as a form of protest of the quality of the pennies put out these days. If they cannot be otherwise convinced to stick together somehow, one could make the sculpture out of clay, then make a mold from the original. Into the mold. they could pour some epoxy and all of these pennies mixed together. If not enough pennies are visible, they could try clear eopxy, to allow the pennies inside to be seen.

I went MDing since my last post on this thread.
I found a 4" gear all rusted to death, lots of canslaw, a 2002 Quarter, a brass ammunition cartridge, a piece of copper, a few pulltabs, and a leah & perrins worcestershire sauce bottle.

Tried my front yard today for my third hunt ever! Didn't stay out as long since it's pretty chilly.

3 Nails, 1 Screw, 1 Washer, 1 Cap, 2 Foil Items (stupid kitty food pouches!), 10 Pennies, 4 Dimes, and one plastic item with metal inside that looks like it came off my car o.O

Went out yesterday and made some interesting finds. Two hunks of really rusted metal that look to me to be from a very old toy car. I also found 3 clad pennies, 1 dime, and a wheatie along with some other scrap metal. Just when I got a hit for a 50c my batteries in my detector died =( I'm going back as soon as I can though!
