got permission to hunt an old country school site not far from my house.the city owns the site the school was closed in the 70s and burned in the 80s.the mayor is one of my pest control cust and said sure but several people had been hunting it and good luck.spent about an hour and came away with 44 45 and 51 wheats and a 64 rosie and the cover for a locket which i thought was neat.

Great job! I find it very tough to get the guts to ask permission for old sites that still have folks living on them!

Default Good Job....

Good job on the silver and wheaties.... Keep going back, the fact that others have hunted only means that they have cleaned out some of the junk, older and deeper coins are likely still there.....

Good Luck & HH, Dave...........

Wow, another silver! Mercs are one of my favourite coins to find! I'd love to see a picture of it!

Thanks for posting the picture! You did great to find more silver there!

I hunted an abandoned school property today, but it has been hunted before. Found nothing but one or two wheat pennies! However, the gentleman who mows the lawn at the ballfield behind the school took me for a ride in the back of his lawn tractor full of grass to point out the site of an old foundation. Maybe I'll do better there!

this site has been hunted alot according to the mayor of the little town its in.
i remember when the school was there as a kid so i hunted the very back edge of the property behind where the school was.there are still a few large oaks there and i figured thats where the kids hung out on hot summer days.
