Default a seal matrix maybe

found this the other day,its bronze and after rubbing it for about ever a pattern is emerging.think it is a medievel personel seal.round about 1300,s

That's a pretty cool find. I've never heard of anyone finding anything like that.

What a find Simon. I can't imagine finding something so old. I'm happy with wheaty or silver rosie.

Yes thats a seal. Hard to date though could be earlier or later though later ones tended to be more fancy/lighter.

THANKS GUYS,WERE LUCKY IN THE UK I GUESS,WEVE SO MUCH HISTORY HERE.AM GOING TO THE STATES TO DO SOME DETECTING AT SOME STAGE IN THE YEAR,LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT ONE
