Smile Coil covers and sizes

I'm just learning and having a great time. Should I get a coil cover? I have seen some folks with them on and some without. Also my MD came with a 8" coil, In the near future I going to get a 4" coil.......should I also get a 10" before I might upgrade my MD. I have a BH Pioneer 505 now. I hunt parks and about to head to the beach.

I always use a coil cover because it is such a small investment and protects your coil from scratches. I hunt in all types of terrain though.

Would rather replace a $10 cover than a $120 - $250 coil.

I have said it many times here, try coating the coil with Plasti-kote or the stuff for truck beds (Rhino coat). It will last and last, if it does get damaged, just touch it up. Beats a cover, no constant on and off for cleaning. RickO
