Instructions on how to make Excalibur straight shaft ,please

Hi,
I would like to make a straight shaft for my machine, the reason I don't want to
buy it is to save money and that I should be able to make it more custom made for my self.I was wondering if any of you made it before ,and if you did could you please help me out ,on how to. My main concern is ,how to make battery spring lock ,or do I just use a bolt to fasten it to the shaft?

1st I want to congratulate on your latest finds. Beachhog I am an electrician by trade. We use Emt conduit . I have a bender, an I can bend pipe pretty good. The type of pipe that we use is galvinized pipe. But they do make aluminium. I don' t how to make a shaft for you , but if you have something on paper I can try and help you. I am not far away and the next time I am up that way I can drop it off . I might be able to find something on the job site. I scuba dive off the boats at Brielle , NJ. Let me know , I 'd be glad to try and help.

maybe you can get some hints from this thread. There are a few others in the history if you care to search. I think "Hobbes lives" made one a couple years ago as well. I guess if you are the type of guy that can swing a hammer and cut straight with a hacksaw, you're in....

Just happened to think. An old pair of aluminum crutches
have the spring pops type adjustment to lengthen them. Not sure about the stock diameter, but maybe you can scratch up a set and find out
Aluminum walkers have the same setup for the height adj. Might be able to find these things in a second hand store. Whatever the outcome, we could use a fresh
thread on "how to". I think the hand grips extentions
come from a bycicle shop......Gil

Thank you,that is very nice of you,but I went online and got an idea ,so I made it today my self "very proud of it"
pictures are in my other thread ,as of my finds ,yea I am happy ,it took me a long time to find a gold ring ,just wait till you learn your machine a little better and I am sure ,that you will do as good and even better,good luck and HH
